Operations Director
An experienced and highly-qualified Professional Mining Engineer and Mining Manager, with 5 years as a General Mine Manager and over 16 years Senior Managerial experience , in-depth knowledge of the South African Mining Industry – as well as the economic, political and social issues impacting the sector. Highly conversant with all operational and legislative frameworks applicable to the industry, with further expertise and a proven track-record in project leadership, acquisitions and creating / maintaining collaborative relationships with multi-level stakeholders [internal and external] – including; HODs, Union Representatives, Community Leaders, Government Departments, and Clients.
Felix Manyanga began his career in 1993, as a Learner Official with Harmony Gold Mine, advancing to Mine Engineer / Section Manager. Subsequent to this training exposure, he has advanced progressively and productively across a 28-year career, via roles with prominent industry players, including;
• Section Manager, Technical Assistant to Executive Head of Mining Operations and General Mine Manager – Anglo Platinum- MHSA;4.1(a) Appointee
• Project / Mine Manager – Exxarro Coal -MHSA ;3.1(a) appointee
• Executive Mine Manager – Petmin (Somkhele Open-Cast Coal Mining) – (4.1(a) Appointee
• Production Manager – Lonmin Platinum-MHSA;3.1(a) appointee
